The consultancy was formed in late 2000 as a joint venture between the TTL Chiltern Group and the Clarke Bond Group. The aim was to provide specialist engineering services principally to the timber frame market. The company operated under the name Chiltern Clarke Bond until June 2005 when the TTL Chiltern Group took full ownership. Principle markets were design and drawing services for fabricators, developers and contractors. Initially the company open offices at the Clarke Bond premises in Bristol but within 12 months it has opened an office in Birmingham.
The company’s first project was a three storey, 48 bed Travelodge for Pinewood Structures Limited. The Travelodge is situated at the Knutsford Service Station on the M6 in Lancashire. This was the first Travelodge to have a barrel vaulted roof, and to use lightweight cladding.
The company is now 27 strong and is responding to an increasing market with strong design process management and a reputation for leading in the fields of light frame engineering, modern methods of construction, design for both fabrication and construction and product innovation.
